Legal Effective 9 September 2026
Privacy policy
This site collects very little. Here is exactly what, why, where it goes, and how to ask us about it.
1. Who we are
MyMotion is the trading name of MyMotion Ltd, company number 17007992, registered at 28 Leyfield, Worcester Park, KT4 7LS, United Kingdom. We build websites, do local SEO and make software for the UK motor trade. The business is run by one person.
We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. ICO registration: [ICO registration number].
To ask us anything about your data, message WhatsApp +44 7796 021246, call that number, or email [Contact email].
2. What we collect, and why
The free trial eligibility check
The only form on this site is the six-step eligibility check. It asks for:
- your first name;
- a phone number to reach you on;
- your business name;
- your part of the motor trade (a choice from a list, or a few words if you pick Other);
- your workshop's postcode, which we use to run a quick local search check on your business before we speak;
- a monthly marketing budget band.
When you press the last button, your browser also sends the address of the page you were on, and our server records the time it arrived and your browser's user-agent string (the short description every browser sends with every request). There is a hidden field that only automated bots fill in; if it is filled in, the submission is discarded.
If you stop part-way. Once you have entered your phone number, the check tells our server each time you move to the next question. If you then stop without finishing, about 20 minutes after your last step we email the MyMotion team what you had entered so far, so that they can get in touch and see whether you need a hand. If you finish the check, that email is cancelled and the complete answers are sent instead. This is a scheduled email sent through Resend; like the finished check it is also written to the function log, and the same retention applies.
We use these details for one thing: to look at whether a free trial makes sense for your business and to ring or message you to talk it through, including if you started the check and did not finish it. That is the whole purpose.
Lawful basis. Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you chose to send us (Article 6(1)(f)).
Booking a call
When you finish the eligibility check, the page shows a booking calendar from Cal.com (cal.com), the scheduling service we use. It is loaded only at that point, not when you first open the site. We pass Cal.com your first name and a short note (your business name, part of the motor trade, postcode and budget band) so the booking arrives pre-filled; you can change or clear them. Your phone number is not sent to Cal.com. Anything you type into the calendar itself, typically your name, email address and any notes, is handled by Cal.com under its own privacy policy, and we receive the booking. You do not have to book there: you can message us on WhatsApp instead.
Site analytics
On the live site we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records page views and a handful of facts about the visit: the page, the referring site, your browser and operating system, screen size, and the country worked out from your IP address. Your IP address is not stored; a hashed identifier that resets every day is used to count visitors, and it cannot be used to follow you across other sites.
Lawful basis. Our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. We think this has no meaningful effect on your privacy.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any host, Vercel keeps short-lived request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to run the service. Vercel processes these on our behalf.
Speed figures shown on the page
The Speed section can show how fast this page loaded for you. Those numbers are measured in your browser and shown to you. We do not send them anywhere.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, build profiles, or make automated decisions about you. There is no newsletter, no account, and no login on this site.
3. Where your details go
When you submit the eligibility check, your answers travel over an encrypted connection to a small function running on Vercel, on the same domain as this site. From there:
- The function log. Every submission is written to the function's log as one line, so nothing is lost while other delivery routes are being set up. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited period set by Vercel, and only we can read them.
- Email, when switched on. The function can email the lead to the MyMotion team through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend then holds a copy of that email as part of delivering it.
- An automation webhook, when switched on. The function can post the lead to a private automation endpoint (for example a tool that adds it to a call list). What is sent is your six answers plus the page address, the time and the user-agent string described above, and nothing else.
- WhatsApp, only if you choose it. After the check, you can press "Or WhatsApp the same details". That opens WhatsApp on your device with a message already written. Nothing goes to WhatsApp until you press send there. Messages on WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
Vercel and Resend are based in the United States and may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer relies on the safeguards the UK allows, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, which those providers offer in their terms.
4. How long we keep it
- Lead details: for as long as we are following up with you. If we do not go on to work together, we delete them no later than twelve months after our last contact.
- If you become a client, your contact details stay in our records for the life of the work and for as long as the law requires afterwards (accounting records, six years).
- Function logs and server logs: for the limited period set by Vercel.
- Analytics: aggregated counts only, with no identifier that lasts beyond a day.
5. Other people's sites on this page
Some of what you see on this site is served by someone else, and this policy does not cover what they do:
- Client websites. When you press a building on the street, open a card in Work, or visit a page under /street/, the client's live website is shown inside a frame. That site is run by that business, which is its own data controller with its own privacy notice and cookies. Your browser talks to it directly.
- The wrap and tint tester. The tester is our own product but is served from a separate address, tint-wrap-tester.vercel.app. It runs in your browser and stores nothing there. A registration number you type into it is sent to the tester's own lookup function, which asks the DVSA vehicle records for the make, model, colour and year and may keep that answer in a short-lived server cache so the same plate is not looked up twice. The plate is not linked to you and is not used for anything else.
- The MotionBookings demo. The board in the MotionBookings section is a demo we host on this domain, with made-up data. It stores two small notes in your browser about which demo notifications you have seen (see the cookie notice). Nothing is sent to us.
- Links. Links to PageSpeed reports, motionbookings.co.uk and clients' sites take you to sites with their own policies.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us:
- for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- to correct it (rectification);
- to delete it (erasure);
- to stop or limit what we do with it (restriction and objection);
- for a copy in a machine-readable form (portability), where it applies.
Ask on WhatsApp +44 7796 021246 or at [Contact email]. We answer within one month and will not charge you. We may need to check it is you before acting.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
7. Children
This site is for businesses in the motor trade. It is not aimed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their details.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change what the site collects, we will change this page and the effective date at the top. This version is effective from 9 September 2026.
